Meet the Crew

Director

Shelby Holdaway

Shelby has always had a great love for music and performing. She grew up turning every room in her home into a stage. As a child, she participated in school choirs, summer dance and singing camps, spent time at Artistic Dance Academy, and took private voice lessons. For her 10th birthday, her parents built her a small wooden stage in the living room. With her own stage and having been inspired by her mom’s kids’ camps, she asked if she could run a singing camp for younger girls. Through that experience, she discovered her passion for helping girls find and share their light. She feels incredibly lucky to see these girls grow while becoming a little family. She says, “I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to work with each girl who joins the Musicals and Melodies family!”

Director

Renee’ Holdaway

Renee’ knew she was meant to be a teacher from as early as she could remember. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from BYU and, while working toward a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, has dedicated her life to continually growing as an educator to better serve children. She also has a deep love for music and believes it is an essential part of a child’s development and education. She says, “There is nothing quite like watching these girls discover their talents, build confidence, form lasting friendships, and accomplish things they never thought possible. Being part of their journey—and celebrating the excitement and sense of achievement that come with putting on a show—is both incredibly fun and deeply fulfilling.”

Set Designer/Head of Sound & Lighting

Paul Holdaway

With a background in architectural design on projects such as the LEGOLAND California hotel, Pechanga Resort Casino, and Temecula wineries, Musicals and Melodies is lucky to have Paul’s talents in bringing fun set pieces to our shows! One of Paul’s favorite childhood memories is listening to his mom sing as she played the piano. He knows how much music can touch someone’s heart and appreciates the value of having a home full of music!
